Drive Traffic to Your Website the Easy Way

How To Drive Traffic to Your Website the Easy Way So that You Can Build A Very Profitable Mailing List of Eager Buyers

Driving traffic to your site is a hugely important piece of the puzzle when it comes to building your mailing list and winning over new customers.

Many business owners get discouraged because they set up a squeeze page and put an opt-in form on their blog or website… only to find that they’re not actually getting anyone to sign up. This tends to happen when people have the “if you build it, they will come” way of thinking. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way. The only way to get traffic is to work hard at getting traffic. It doesn’t happen overnight or by magic.

If your business don’t have any traffic coming in, or you have just a trickle here and there, then there’s no way to know if your squeeze page is actually working and converting or not.

For example, if only10 people see your squeeze page and no one opts-in, that doesn’t mean the page is a failure. What it means is that you need more traffic before you can make a decision.

It’s important to get a lot of traffic coming in before you make any determinations about your conversion rates. You’ll at least need 100 site visitors or a few hundred before you can start to judge how things are working.

This is where a lot of business owners fall down. They get all excited and create a squeeze page and think that their business is going to be an instant success. But then they get tired of waiting for that traffic or don’t work on getting traffic at all and declare that it “doesn’t work.” The reality is that they don’t yet have enough traffic. Focusing on traffic is an important piece of the puzzle.

Don’t be Invisible

Before we go into how to drive different types of traffic, there’s something very important that you need to know. If you want to be successful in business and use Internet marketing in the best possible way (and all businesses should), then it’s important to make sure that you are very visible all over the web.

Wherever your target audience visit online, you should be there. Your potential clients shouldn’t be able to visit social media, blogs, websites, and sales platforms without seeing something from you and your business there.

Your name, brand, and content should ideally be everywhere the people in your niche are.

If you aren’t visible, then you’re probably not going to get a lot of traffic. If you are visible and if you’ve done a lot of work to build your brand, then it will likely be pretty easy for you to get traffic once you develop a plan and put some muscle into it.

Think about the potential traffic sources you have right now. Do you have a website or anything up on the Internet at all?

If not, then that’s where you need to start.

Do you have social media accounts, a blog, and other standard presence on the web? If so, then that’s a good start. Do what you can to utilize and build that presence in an even better way.

Make sure you are interacting with people in your niche, being social, and getting your name and brand out there. Interact with other heavy hitters in your niche – name association can be a good thing for your own reputation and for your relationships with other companies as well as your potential customers.

If you need to build traffic very quickly, then you should really consider paid traffic in addition to or instead of free traffic sources. Paid traffic offers an almost instant way to see if your sales page is converting well.

For example, if you write and post some articles and wait for that free traffic to trickle in, you’ll likely be waiting a long time before you get enough traffic to make a determination as to how well your page is converting. It can be very discouraging if you do a lot of work to build up free traffic with something like article marketing, only to find that, after you’ve finally gotten enough visitors, that your squeeze pages aren’t converting at all.

When instead, you can pay a little bit of money for an ad on something like Google’s Adwords or Facebook ads and link to your squeeze page to see how it converts.

If it does well, then you can ramp up your paid and free traffic methods because you know it will be worth it. If you have enough visitors to determine that it’s not working well, then you can make additional tweaks before you spend a lot of time and a lot more money.

Succeed Even if You Are on a Tight Budget

That is not to say that free traffic isn’t worth your time. It absolutely can be. For example, if you stop paying for your paid ads, the traffic stops coming in just as fast as it came. But, if you spend time building up free methods of traffic, you can really build your visibility and it stays there, bringing you passive traffic that can be very beneficial to your business now and in the future.

Free methods of traffic would include things like article marketing, blogging, social media, search engine and optimization. You can also do things like blog commenting, writing guest blog posts, submitting podcasts, videos, and so on.

These are traffic methods that tend to be more time-consuming but really do build your presence in a niche in a great way.

Over time, if you concentrate on all these different types of traffic methods, then people won’t be able to go anywhere related to your niche without bumping into something you’ve created. This is a wonderful thing that can help you build your brand and your list… because your focus will be on building your list with everything you do.

There are also some more unconventional ways of driving traffic, such as doing some list building via Kindle books. The Kindle self-publishing opportunity is a wonderful one. You can write Kindle books related to your niche and link to a squeeze page within the front matter and back matter of your book. You’ll give something away for free to those who opt-in to your list.

The Best Kind of List You Can Have…….

Of course, nothing beats having a buyers list.

It’s wonderful to get people on your list who opted in via a squeeze page. But, they did opt-in to get something for free. Who’s to say if they’ll ever be willing to pay for something you offer?

But, when you put people who are proven buyers on your list, then you’re ahead of the game because they’ve already proven to buy.

Every time someone buys something from you, their name and email should be added to a customer buyer list. Now, you can email that person with updates to the product they purchased, information on related products, additional information, new promotions, and more. You can start to build that relationship beyond that initial sale.

Think about what will work best for you and your business. If you have more money than time, then you might want to go with paid methods so you can get that instant feedback. If you have more time than money, then you might want to stick to the free methods.

Take a look at what successful websites in your niche are doing. How are they driving their traffic? How have they diversified their traffic? You should strive to get paid ads going as well as passive, free methods of driving traffic. That will give you the best possible chance of growing your list in more than one way. Build your list with everything you do and drive a lot of traffic and you can’t fail.

Remember that is not only about driving traffic. You have to provide a great experience to the people who join your list. They’ll join your list to get something for free, or whatever it is you’re giving them, but they’ll stick around because of the relationship you’re building and because they’ll come to know, like, and trust you.

You don’t want to be just another nameless, faceless business owner who’s trying to squeeze a buck out of them. You want to be a person they trust, turn to for advice, and buy from.
